To enter bridge deck information the user presses the Deck button on the Bridge/Culvert Data Editor. The Profiles Check evaluates the starting water-surface elevation methods, compares water-surface elevations between the selected profiles, and top widths for two to six profiles. The bridge deck editor is used to describe the area that will be blocked out due to the bridge deck, road embankment and vertical abutments.The Structure Check evaluates distances, type of flow, culvert coefficients, culvert solution criteria, ineffective flow, deck/roadway and ground data, and floodway at the structure.The Floodway Check evaluates the Encroachment method, starting water-surface elevation, floodway widths, surcharge values, floodway discharge, and the floodway at hydraulic structures.The XS (Cross-Sections) Check evaluates distances, ineffective flow areas, levees, divided flow, extended cross sections, known water-surface elevation, location of cross sections, placement of discharges, boundary conditions and flow regimes. Keep in mind that the weir/culvert in the SA/2D Area Connection model is connected at adjacent grid cells located on either side of the bridge centreline (as required by the documented limitations of HEC-RAS 5.0.3), with the bridge deck removed from the 2D terrain data and entered as a 1D weir embankment.The NT Check evaluates roughness (Manning's "n") and transition loss coefficients.These reports include tables and warning messages about possible inconsistencies in the HEC-RAS input and output.ĬHECk-RAS checking programs cover the following five areas:
